After three years of dedicated service as our Chief of Human Resources, Darius Ballard will be transitioning out of his role at the Education Leadership Service Center (ELSC) to return to the field. Mr. Ballard has been tapped to return to his roots as the Principal of Washington High School. This transition follows the departure of Theresa Hall, whose final day as Principal of WHS was today. We are grateful that Principal Hall will remain with the district through the end of the academic year, providing her expertise and administrative support in other areas. While we will miss Mr. Ballard’s leadership at the district level, we are incredibly excited for the students, families, and staff at Washington. As many of you know, Mr. Ballard’s heart has always been on the southeast side; his return to the “Warrior Way” is a testament to his passion for direct student and community impact.Transition Timeline & ContinuityTo ensure both our HR operations and Washington High School are positioned for success, we have established the following plan:
Effective Immediately: Mr. Ballard will begin a phased transition to the WHS campus. During this period, Dr. Julie Cain will serve as the acting principal. Additionally, Kamber Boeckmann, Area 1 School Improvement Coach, will support Washington full-time for the remainder of the school year.Full-Time Return: Mr. Ballard will officially be back at Washington full-time prior to Spring Break.HR Support: Our Human Resources department remains fully operational. If you require assistance during this transition, please continue to contact humanresources@crschools.us to ensure a prompt response.
Darius has been an invaluable asset to our leadership team, guiding us through complex initiatives with professionalism and grace. Please join me in thanking him for his district-wide service and wishing him the very best as he returns home to lead the Warriors.Sincerely,Dr. Lannin
