The Transition Alliance Program (TAP), a partnership between Cedar Rapids Community School District and Iowa Vocational Services, provides vocational training, independent living, and post-secondary education assistance to students. TAP assists young adults in developing positive work skills for productive employment. Students who participate in TAP will receive follow-up services until age 25 to assure long-term job success.
TAP includes:
- Individualized attention
- One-on-one assistance for career and educational opportunities
- Development of job-seeking and job-keeping skills
- Assistance in locating and maintaining employment
- Community mobility and driver permit training
- Assistance with individual housing, medical, and financial matters
- Year-round support
- Follow-up and monitoring through age 25
