Work readiness

Got a job outside of school? Have you completed a work experience form from job coach Kalpana Kearney so jobs in the community (non-school sponsored off-site positions) can be counted for credit?

Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services provides appropriate and extensive job training and experience, and support after graduation. Begin the application process as early as sophomore year.

Visit the counseling page for job postings, scholarship listings, FAFSA, and other links.
Resources for college planning and free FAFSA help is available at Iowa College Access Network.

Many of our students participate in career training or exploration through Kirkwood Community College, or find a good fit there for continued education and training after high school graduation. Kirkwood Career Academies offer career preparation in automotive, health care, culinary, and other fields.

Special Olympics

Washington High School provides three sports for Special Olympics athletes: bowling, basketball, and track and field. Contact Cindy Henle at chenle@crschools.us for more information.
