Earning College Credit in High School
Cedar Rapids Community School District high school students have many opportunities to earn college credit while in high school, including through earning dual credit and Kirkwood Career Academies.
Dual credit
CRCSD high school students are eligible to enroll in college-level courses through Kirkwood Community College’s dual credit program. Credit earned through this program counts towards your high school diploma and future college degree. This program is free for high school students.

Kirkwood Career Academies
CRCSD high school students can earn free, dual credit at Kirkwood Community College while earning their high school diploma through Kirkwood Career Academies. This program is a packaged sequence of career-focused courses.
